I am very pleased to say that I have just had one of my winter landscape photographs used by the renowned Linn Records label. The scene was shot in Glasgow with a very rich sunset taking place which created a very warm feel even though it was a winter setting. Please follow the link below to see the photograph and any info on the artist :
I just had the good fortune of returning from a great holiday in Las Vegas and New York. I was lucky enough to visit the Grand Canyon while in Nevada and was totally in awe of this natural wonder of the world. I have tried to capture some of my journey through this vast country and have put the photographs into my landscapes section. Please have a look.
I also just returned from a sailing trip a couple of weeks ago to Tarbert and Portavadie with some good friends.
At Portavadie there is a very unusual site which was intended to be a village built to house the workers of a concrete factory. Please click the following link for more information on the village and to find out its history :
The site has since been very tastefully decorated by some highly talented graffiti artists. I took some photographs using HDR which gives a sort of art and fantasy look to the pictures. I have put them onto the website under the category ' Urban '. Please have a look and give me any feedback. I'm new to HDR photography and feedback would be appreciated...
For those of you who are interested I was using a Canon 5D Mark 2 with 17-40mm L series lens.
I have now done a couple more portrait shoots in my new studio and the results are now uploaded to the site. The models who kindly contributed to this happening were Carolyn Ward ( my sister ) and Katie Murphy. The shots taken previously of my wife Catherine are still there too. I want people to see a wide variety of portrait shots and to show how different someone can look by changing angles and style thus creating a high fashion look to a catalogue model look.
I've also not long returned from a weekend in the North of Scotland. I had the pleasure of staying at Lochcarron for the Easter weekend and was fortunate enough to have grand weather.
We managed to get out and about to places such as Torridon, Achnasheen, Diabaig, and Glen Shiel. The scenery was amazing and when the time is right nothing can beat Scotland.
I took a few photographs which are uploaded to the site and would be much obliged if you would take the time to check them out. I tried shooting in HDR and hopefully managed to create a nice effect.
I've recently added a new photo link titled 'urban'. These were shots taken of my wife Catherine and have hopefully captured a wee bit of the environment of where I live. Some of them are more like graphic art but overall I am pleased with the results but still need practice, practice, practice...
