Welcome...

Fire & Peace Recovery
What we do in a Nutshell?

We help you to make positive connections in your life using Mother Nature amongst other physical activities. We truly believe that the best things in life are free, and that by taking you away on a wild camping trip to a beautiful location, with no distractions, works wonders for your mindfullness and wellbeing.

Oh, and one more thing, DON'T forget the Power of the Fire.

The True Heart of the Camp!

Fire & Peace Recovery is an umbrella of various complementary therapies used to cope with some of the challenges life can throw at us at any given time. We are currently scoping and collaborating with similar organisations to create the networks needed for these cruel challenges, and to offer support and guidance to those most in need. We are not professional counsellors or doctors but rather share our first hand life experiences with our beneficiaries.

Mental Health and substance dependency do not pick and choose who they target!

We are a firm believer that Recovery with Nature is one of our most powerful, yet free, recovery tools. It is pretty much as it sounds: we use nature to help you recover and heal. We passionately believe that exposure to nature is essential for our well-being – both physical and mental – and we strive to give people the opportunity to immerse themselves in nature and to reap the rewards.

In November 2018 we launched our pilot Recovery with Nature programme which was an amazing success. We invited a group of individuals in various stages of  addiction recovery to our Fire & Peace camp in the Highlands of Scotland - away from the "noise" of their daily lives. There, they reconnected: with themselves, each other and Mother Nature. The results were incredible and a new support system was formed.

There is a healing power in nature that is difficult to measure or explain; yet it is very real. Nature connects with something innate in everyone – something that has perhaps been lost or smothered by the modern world, whether it’s mental health issues or addiction. The benefits of reconnecting with nature are well-documented (please have a look at Our Vision for some more information) and it’s accessible to everyone. It’s our mission to bring those who perhaps need it the most to nature and show them how to be part of it again.

Fire & Peace is not a recovery centre and we are not affiliated with any established programmes, but we offer an additional support to people on the road to recovery. We want to encourage you to make the connection with nature, and from your connection, you can encourage others around you.

Live. Don’t Exist.
